BKI recently hosted the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) on Kangaroo Island, with meetings at the Kingscote Football Club and at Island Pure for businesses interested in more efficiency energy.
The visit was sponsored by private company Off-Grid Energy Australia which spoke about the options of investing in solar and off-grid systems.
CEFC is a Federally funded finance corporation with a mandate to help increase the uptake of renewable energy in businesses.
It works with three of the four major banks to provide asset finance from $10,000 to $5 million with terms up to 10 years. It is particularly keen to work with agriculture businesses on energy-saving or renewable projects, including farm machinery and light vehicles. It has helped in 900 projects for low-emission vehicles and farm machinery, 300 upgrades to buildings and facilities and 180 solar and off-grid projects.
