Business Kangaroo Island Chairperson Sharon Kauppila had a meeting with Safe Work SA who were recently on Kangaroo Island delivering a workshop in conjunction with Parenting KI regarding farm safety for families.
Safe Work SA are keen to develop relationships between their new Education Support Team and businesses on Kangaroo Island. They have developed a checklist for businesses which helps to identify the WHS related activities that you do well (green), the things you are partially doing (amber) and the things you are not doing well at all (red).
We would like businesses to take up the challenge – print off the WHS Snapshot (click on the button above) and complete it for their businesses, you can then google search any of the steps that you need to improve upon (i.e. Safe Work SA Step 3) to find out what you can do to improve your WHS.
Keep an eye out as we will be looking to run a workshop with Safe Work SA and interested businesses, or you can contact them directly about any WHS concerns – the education team is here to support business in their WHS obligations NOT to inspect and prosecute.
